Growing up and running our family cattle ranch before becoming a full time sculptor, I have spent my life around horses.  I showed quarter horses, worked cattle on the ranch and packed them into the high country.  A horse that was good working cattle, whether roping, sorting or simply gathering cows was known as a "cow horse". I hope I captured the intelligence and alertness of a true cow horse in this bronze.  This piece has a hand tooled leather insert in the walnut base done by myself.
